Growing manufacturer seeking a procurement / purchasing specialist.

Our client, a global leader in the design and manunfacture of heavy machinery, is seekng a Puchaser to join their team in Jacksonville, FL. The primary role of the Purchasing Specialist is the procurement of all Sales Order Parts, Repair and Production Parts, and services.
Job Duties:
Procure goods and services required by our Eastern manufacturing locations
Manage local supplier relationships, stocking programs, and purchasing transactions within corporate trade agreements
Quote and source products based on quality, delivery, and cost considerations
Work closely with sales, engineering, bill of material, production planning and manufacturing teams to match material deliveries to production schedules and improve processes to ensure our supply chain is as efficient and cost effective as possible
Be available to promptly answer questions about products, procure quotes, and process orders. Follow up with suppliers on past-due purchase orders and update delivery information on the purchase orders.
Establish professional working relationships with suppliers and communicates priorities for critical shipments
Work with suppliers and internal customers to change scheduled deliveries on existing orders when requirements change
Follow up on orders shipped to offsite locations to verify receipt and log freight information
Prepare routine purchasing reports, Responsible for PO corrections, invoice resolution, order confirmations and on-time deliveries
Work with purchasing agents and internal customers to improve supply chain processes
Communicates engineering specifications to suppliers and negotiates best cost during new model development
Be available to promptly answer questions about orders. This involves sitting or standing at a desk and working with a computer for most of the day

Experience / Education needed:
5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with purchasing & supply chain management in a fast paced manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
Experience working with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft AX
