Service Manager
Location: Exmouth, Devon
Salary: £30,000 per annum, pro rata
Contract: Temporary, 2–3 months
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Start: ASAP
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to provide temporary management cover at our 16+ supported accommodation service in Exmouth, Devon.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced social care professional who can confidently lead a team, oversee the day-to-day running of a service and ensure young people receive safe, high-quality and personalised support.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and support the staff team, including supervision, performance management and development.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the service.
- Ensure safeguarding and regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain high standards of care, support planning, risk assessments and record keeping.
- Work closely with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
- Support young people to develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage incidents and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Ensure the service remains safe, well maintained and compliant.
- Support rotas, staffing and budget management.
- Participate in the management on-call rota.
About you We are looking for someone who has:
- A relevant qualification in social care, health & social care, youth work or a related field.
- Previous management or senior-level experience.
- Experience of line managing and leading staff.
- Experience working with young people, ideally within supported accommodation, social care or a similar setting.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- A calm, professional and positive approach.
- Availability to start ASAP and commit to the 2–3 month temporary contract.
Experience of working within an Ofsted-regulated service and knowledge of the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023 would be desirable.
