Job Title:       Handyperson 
Type:              Permanent
Location:       Bristol - company van and tools provided 
Salary:            £25,528 - £28,800 per annum
Hours:            37.5hrs per week 

  
BRC are working closely with a supported accommodation provider who are looking for a Handyperson/Maintenance Operative to join their team covering Bristol.
  
The main purpose of the role is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of properties and grounds to ensure service users live in safe and comfortable accommodation. Also to carry out essential maintenance on voids to ensure they are maintained to a high standard and within set targets.

  
Duties:
 

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a safe, professional manner
• Completing basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, joinery, and painting/decorating tasks
• Preparing void properties to a high standard to support timely re-letting
• Assembling and moving furniture and equipment
• Supporting service users with simple DIY tasks where appropriate
• Reporting maintenance and health & safety concerns to the Property Manager
• Ensuring all paperwork and maintenance records are completed accurately
• Working collaboratively across teams to support continuous improvement
• You will be happy to work unsupervised or within a team and be self-motivated in order to achieve the company goals in supporting clients to live independently.
• Upholding company policies, procedures and health & safety compliance

  
Requirements:
 

• General maintenance knowledge and experience in a similar role
• Be self-motivated and able to work alone or within a team
• Be empathetic and patient with clients as you will often be working within their homes.
• Reliable with good time keeping
• Have a basic knowledge of Health & Safety although full training will be provided.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK 
• Physically fit with experience of working in a physically demanding environment
