Job Title:          Grounds Maintenance Operative
Type:                 12 Week Temp to Perm
Location:         Bracknell
Salary:              £13.45 an hour + holiday pay
Hours:               40 hours a week
 
We are working closely with a leading organisation to recruit a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their HomeCare team.
 
This role involves delivering an efficient and effective Grounds Maintenance service across communal areas of managed estates, following best horticultural practice and ensuring a high-quality service for residents and customers. Working as part of the Grounds Maintenance team to maintain communal areas, using appropriate tools and equipment while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
 
Duties:

• Carry out Grounds Maintenance services as directed by the Grounds Maintenance Team Leader.
• Maintain communal areas across managed estates.
• Undertake grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning and weed control.
• Carry out litter picking and other grounds maintenance works as required.
• Use the PDA reporting system to record site visits and tasks completed.
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Attend regular Toolbox Talks and identify any training or Health & Safety requirements.
• Use appropriate mechanical and hand tools for the work being undertaken.
• Keep equipment clean, washed and in good condition and report any defects.
• Maintain vehicles to a good standard, including regular oil and coolant checks.
• Comply with driving at work policies and procedures.
• Assist other trades when required to ensure residents and customers receive a high-quality service.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the position.

 
Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar Grounds Maintenance role, ideally within a housing organisation, Direct Labour Organisation or Grounds Maintenance environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of practical and technical Grounds Maintenance requirements.
• Experience using mechanical and hand tools associated with grounds maintenance.
• Current National Proficiency Test Certificate for the safe control and use of pesticides, or PA1/PA6a.
• Full UK driving licence with towing ability.
• Ability to adapt communication and behaviour when dealing with different situations and people.
• Effective and accurate communication skills.
• Positive and courteous approach to internal and external customers.
• Ability to understand and respond to customer needs and requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate strong values and behaviours.
