Job Title: Team Leader - Home Condition
Type: 6 month FTC
Location: Somerset
Salary: £42,011 - £46,679 FTE
Hours: 37 hours
BRC are currently working with a leading housing provider who are looking for an experienced Team Leader - Home Condition to lead a team of surveyors and support the delivery of high-quality property assessments across Somerset.
Working within the Asset Management directorate, you will play a key role in ensuring property data is accurate, reliable and aligned with compliance, asset investment and energy efficiency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Property Condition Surveyors and Domestic Energy Assessors.
- Deliver high-quality stock condition surveys in line with the Decent Homes Standard and HHSRS.
- Work with strategic managers to plan and deliver survey programmes.
- Maintain data quality through training, spot checks, benchmarking and validation.
- Collect and analyse energy efficiency data to support SAP rating calculations.
- Monitor and report on survey access rates and team performance.
- Validate planned repair proposals and maintain accurate associated data.
- Champion excellent customer service and work closely with Neighbourhood teams to support resident needs.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant technical qualification or significant relevant experience.
- Strong building surveying and construction management experience.
- Experience undertaking comprehensive property surveys at a similar level within an RSL or comparable organisation.
- Previous line management experience, ideally managing technical or surveying teams.
- A strong understanding of the Decent Homes Standard and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- An understanding of the role housing can play in achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
- Knowledge of PAS 2035 and retrofit principles.
- Working knowledge of stock condition databases.
- Experience building strong relationships with key stakeholders and influencers.
- Good knowledge of relevant processes, legislation and regulations.
- Basic Asbestos Awareness.
Desirable - CIOB, CIH, RICS or equivalent property surveying qualification, or working towards one.
- Domestic Energy Assessor accreditation, or willingness to work towards.
- PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessor accreditation, or willingness to work towards.
Additional Information This is a
full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract / secondment working 37 hours per week.
The role is
field based across Somerset, with
Weston-Super-Mare being the nearest office.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a satisfactory
basic DBS check.
