A respected Hampshire-based charity is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Alcohol Recovery Worker to join its Recovery Hub team in Portsmouth.
The organisation delivers high-impact, person-centred support and accommodation services to individuals experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges. At the heart of everything they do is a commitment to empowering people to make meaningful and lasting change. They are now looking for someone who shares these values and has the drive to make a real difference.
About the Role
The Recovery Hub provides a wide range of interventions for individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, including one-to-one support, therapeutic group work, needle exchange services, and prescribing interventions.
This particular role focuses on supporting individuals admitted to hospital due to alcohol-related issues. You will engage with clients during their hospital stay, carrying out assessments and initiating recovery planning, before continuing to provide structured support once they return to the community.
Working closely with specialist healthcare professionals, you will deliver a trauma-informed, person-centred approach that helps individuals access the right support at the right time to aid their recovery journey.
The role is predominantly community-based and will involve lone working, including visits to clients in their homes, hospitals, and other community settings across Portsmouth. You will also work collaboratively with a range of partner agencies, including healthcare services, housing providers, social care, and other recovery-focused organisations.
