Prison Leavers Floating Support Worker
  
LOCATION:                Bristol (hybrid home & community based)
SALARY:                    £12.92 + Holiday Pay or £14.48 Inclusive PAYE
DURATION:                Temp 3 months + (potential for permanent) 
Hours:                        37.5hrs – between 9am - 5pm 

Role Overview:
Our client, an award-winning charity, is looking for a Floating Support Worker to work to join their Prison Leavers team in Bristol. The role involves supporting prison leavers in temporary accommodation to secure more long-term accommodation and to develop the skills and resources necessary to maintain a tenancy.

The Role:

• You will be working with clients who are being released from prison, often in temporary accommodation provided as part of the Community Accommodation Service Tier 3 (CAS3), which provides up-to 84 days of temporary accommodation and support for those released from prison at high risk of homelessness.
• You will work with clients to secure more long-term accommodation, often via the private rented sector. Exploring options for further temporary provisions for those unable to secure long-term accommodation within the necessary timeframes.
• You will be responsible for liaising with private landlords, the council, and a variety of third-party support agencies.
• You will provide support to develop the skills and resources necessary to maintain a tenancy. For example, supporting clients to apply for all relevant benefits such as Universal Credit or PIP, as well as ensuring clients are able to develop and access a support network including accessing health services.
• You will provide one to one support to clients with complex needs, to include homelessness, substance misuse & mixed mental health.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working with ex-offenders or supporting individuals with complex needs such as homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges.
• An understanding of the barriers and challenges facing individuals who have recently been released from prison.
• Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role, and candidates must already have full right to work in the UK.
• The ideal candidate will already hold an in-date DBS check within the last 12 months or would be happy to get BRC to process a new one on your behalf ASAP!

Desirable Requirements:

• A full UK driving license and access to a car is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of homeless pathways with Bristol.
