The LAND 4140 BMS Business Management Officer role will:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of Project Office Team taskings.
- Support project governance activities related to the day-to-day business of the project.
- Prioritise and delegate tasks among Project Office Team members.
- Coordinate and manage information progressing for Project Director or higher review and clearance.
- Develop an understanding of, and adhere to, project governance and reporting requirements.
- Act as central coordinator for the project's risk management reporting, compliance and information within Predict!, including:
- Coordinating monthly Integrated Project Risk Management Team meetings and providing Secretariat duties to the forum
- Assuring risk owners are appropriately managing and updating their risks.
- Working with Assurance and Compliance SMEs to ensure that all risks are written in a manner compliant with extant policy
- Support conduct of key BCS Enterprise and Contract governance meetings as the Secretariat, which may include tasks such as meeting bookings, calendar invitations, de-conflicting timings, and capture of meeting minutes.
- Facilitate engagement with the two Contracted vendors as required.
- Support management of the engagements, meetings, data requests, admin matters etc. required to establish and embed the two vendors as part of the project.
- Support design and establishment of administrative processes (e.g. data exchange, correspondence, Points of Contact, Defence site access etc) in parallel with commercial/contractual administration processes.
- Support project-side set-up of administration and governance processes for BCS Enterprise
- Work collaboratively to develop and maintain beneficial, effective relationships and negotiate effectively to influence stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver agreed project outcomes.
- Assess, interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Be accountable for accurate completion of work within defined timeframes and quality requirements within a matrixed, integrated workforce.
The position reports to the Project Office Team Lead, and provides project administrative support to the BMS (Critical C2) and BMS (Tactical) Project Managers; the Commercial Manager and the Project Director.

This role requires demonstrated experience in: - Conducting planning, management and monitoring in a project management office team of contractor SMEs.
- Project reporting and coordination of essential project related functions.
- Building and sustaining relationships with project members and external stakeholders by communicating with influence to support project objectives.
- Organising, allocating and conducting project office teamwork in support of project day to day business activities.
- Strategic thinking by harnessing information and opportunities and displaying judgement and stakeholder engagement intelligence.
- Experience working in a complex stakeholder system.
- Cultivating productive working relationships.
- Proven commercial and business acumen with an ability to build appropriate and effective business relationships.
- Highly effective communication, both formally and informally, including advanced project documentation review skills.
- Initiative in keeping personal skills up to date, maintaining awareness of industry developments and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ability to analyse, design, plan, execute, and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets while assessing and evaluating risk.
Essential Experience and / or Qualifications: - Relevant degree qualifications or industry experience of more than 3 years.
- Experience in the coordination of team member work effort.
- More than 3 years' experience in project management, and/or business administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management processes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
SFIA Skills Sought:The provision of support and guidance on portfolio, programme and project management processes, procedures, tools and techniques. Support includes definition of portfolios, programmes, and projects; advice on the development, production and maintenance of business cases; time, resource, cost and exception plans, and the use of related software tools. Tracking and reporting of programme/project progress and performance are also covered, as is the capability to facilitate all aspects of portfolio/ programme/ project meetings, workshops and documentation.
PROF Level 3:Uses recommended portfolio, programme and project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking. Sets up project files, compiles and distributes reports. Provides administrative services to project boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings. Provides guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.
