Position Description: The CJC10 Communications Technician L3 provides advanced technical and professional support across the CJC10 Product.
The role applies broad communications engineering and maintenance knowledge to deliver complex technical and maintenance activities, support sustainment outcomes, and contribute to capability enhancement.
Operating under broad direction, the position exercises initiative, autonomy, and accountability to achieve allocated technical and program objectives.
Responsibilities: The CJC10 Communications Technician L3 is to:
- Execute complex communications technical and maintenance assurance activities in line with agreed priorities, milestones, and outcomes.
- Exercise assigned technical authorities and ensure compliance with technical regulatory requirements.
- Develop, review, and assess technical packages, reports, and product performance against requirements.
- Apply technical knowledge to identify risks and uncertainties, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement in communications systems and processes.
- Provide detailed technical and maintenance advice to the CJC10 SO1 Engineering Manager and CJC10 ILS Lead L3, contributing to planning, decision-making, and sustainment outcomes.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with internal Defence stakeholders, external industry partners, and suppliers to influence outcomes and ensure effective collaboration.
- Support workforce development through mentoring, technical guidance, and effective knowledge management.
- Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into all technical activities.
- Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, products, and equipment.
- All other tasks as directed.
Responsibilities and Experience: In addition to the defined responsibilities of the position, the following requirements of this position are considered fundamental to the Communications Technician L3:
- Relevant higher education or vocational qualifications in communications engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, and present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in Defence sustainment and technical assurance activities.
- ASDEFCON suite experience.

NTAS Level 4:Maintains the network support process and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
