Position Overview The Scheduler shall provide project schedule management services to the Commonwealth.
The Scheduler will develop and/or assess Project Work Breakdown Structures (PWBS), Contract Work Breakdown Structures (CWBS) and supporting data dictionaries.
The Scheduler will develop project master schedules.
Role Description: - Developing and/or maintaining project schedules.
- Provision of timely schedule reports and forecasts.
- Project schedules analysis and control.
- Develop, implement, and improve the project schedule.
- Work collaboratively with and partner multiple, geographically diverse stakeholders to ensure schedules reflect accurate/current schedule status.
- Provide project governance support as required.
- Participate in project workshops.
- Identify any gaps and opportunities to improve the schedule and reporting.
- Carry out other Project Controls tasks as required.
Experience/Skills Sought: - Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry and/or domain work experience. More than 10 years experience would be preferred.
- Current and relevant project management experience.
- Strong scheduling/project control experience.
- Demonstrated experience working on Defence projects, using Open Plan Professional (OPP) scheduling program and OPP qualification certificate.
- Detailed knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (formerly Capability Lifecycle).
SFIA Skills Sought:The provision of support and guidance on portfolio, programme and project management processes, procedures, tools and techniques. Support includes definition of portfolios, programmes, and projects; advice on the development, production and maintenance of business cases; time, resource, cost and exception plans, and the use of related software tools. Tracking and reporting of programme/project progress and performance are also covered, as is the capability to facilitate all aspects of portfolio/ programme/ project meetings, workshops and documentation.
PROF Level 4:Maintains the network support process and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Uses network management software and tools to investigate and diagnose network problems, collect performance statistics and create reports, working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate.
