The Communications Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrate extensive expertise in engineering, including system design, analysis, and performance evaluation.
• Support the integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting of subsystems, ensuring alignment with system requirements and engineering best practice.
• Provide expert technical advice and actively participate in design reviews, technical working groups, and engineering governance activities with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Qualification and Experience:
In addition to the defined responsibilities of the position, the following requirements of this position
are considered fundamental to the Communications Engineer:

• Be a Chartered Professional Engineer of a registered Professional Engineering Body (such as Engineers Australia) equivalent, or be able to attain chartered status.
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications Engineering or other equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in leadership and management roles, and an ability to coach and guide teams in the implementation of strategy and change.

 The following requirements of this position are considered desirable to the Communications
Engineer:

• Understanding of technical, logistical, and operational requirements in the delivery of capability, and knowledge of applicable Defence policy and legislation.

• SFIA Skill Code - Systems and software lifecycle engineering (SLEN) - L4
