• Security Clearance - Minimum NV1 Clearance
• Length of Contract: 3 months (possible extensions)

Key Responsibilities:

• Review SMS documentation, procedures, and records to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry
  standards.
• Conduct interviews with crew members and other stakeholders to gather information and assess SMS effectiveness. 
• Identify non-conformances and areas for improvement in SMS implementation and operation. 
• Research and prepare detailed reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Provide SME advice on risk management, risk assessments and specific activities relevant to vessel safety.
• Liaise with external stakeholders as required to progress projects and reports.
• Promote a strong safety culture on vessels through effective communication and training. 

Skills / Experience:

• Extensive experience in maritime safety management or auditing compliance.
• Strong understanding of ABF and Defence safety management frameworks.
• Familiarity with SMS principles and best practices and understanding of risk assessment and management.
• Project management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer and administration skills
