Overview:
The following details regarding the requirements for each of these levels:

1. Technical Proficiency Level Three (3): The areas specifically require proven experience and knowledge in advance and complex engineering for the role.
2. Technical Proficiency Level Four (4): Systems Engineer with an accredited or recognised four-year engineering degree and has completed a minimum of three years engineering work experience after completing the degree.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Systems Engineering, RF Communications,
  Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar) from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
• At least 3 years’ experience delivering engineering outcomes in a defence
  environment.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in the review and development of systems safety products, safety management systems, and systems safety analysis techniques.
• Attention to detail and excellent writing skills.

Highly Desirable Experience and / or Qualifications:

• At least 8 years’ experience delivering engineering outcomes in a defence
  environment.
• Experience with reviewing or producing engineering deliverables and reports.
• Experience working with external suppliers and stakeholders.
• Technical knowledge of radio frequency/network/communications and related equipment.

Qualification:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Systems Engineering, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar) from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.

SFIA Skill Code - Safety Engineering (SFEN) - L5
