Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Civil Maritime Safety Section, ensuring effective performance and development.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate safety risks within the civil maritime environment.
• Implement and manage a program of safety assurance, investigations, inspections and training across the fleet.
• Investigate safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Effectively communicate safety information to stakeholders, including staff, management, and external parties.

Extensive experience in maritime safety management or auditing compliance.

• in-depth knowledge of marine safety legislation and safety legislation and industry standards.
• Familiarity with safety principles and best practices and understanding of risk assessment and management.

Project and risk management skills

• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer and administration skills, including attention to detail
• Experience with Comcare engagement is desirable

Additional Criteria:

• DSS Skill - 2.5 Systems and Software Engineering – Safety Management, Level 4
• SFIA - Safety Assessment (SFAS), Level 5
