The Company

Join an established construction business specialising in Insurance Repair and Strata projects. With long-standing relationships with Australia’s leading insurance companies and loss assessors, this business continues to experience strong growth. Due to increasing demand, an opportunity has arisen for a Major Loss Supervisor to join their highly successful team in Sydney.

The Role

As a Major Loss Supervisor, you will take ownership of major loss projects from assessment through to reinstatement. You will play a key role in ensuring quality outcomes for both insurers and insured parties by managing site assessments, estimates, and the coordination of trades.
Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting building insurance assessment reports
• Supervising reinstatement works and ensuring quality standards
• Engaging, coordinating, and managing trades throughout the restoration process
• Communicating and negotiating with trades to track progress and resolve issues
• Acting as the key liaison between insurers and insured parties
• Coordinating property access with clients
• Managing disputes and issue resolution where required
• Ensuring all works meet legislative, contractual, and OH&S requirements
• Overseeing inspections and ensuring all compliance documentation is completed

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervising role
• Insurance building experience (highly desirable but not essential)
• Trade qualification in building (carpentry preferred) or related discipline
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Competence with computer systems and reporting tools
• A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Sound knowledge of OHS practices, legislation, and regulations
• Familiarity with current market rates and trades
• The ability to prepare accurate estimates without reliance on external quotes
• A current and valid driver’s licence
