"Do Civil Engineering" they said."You'll go places !" Well here's a place, albeit far flung. Remote. To get there it takes some planes and a boat.
Seeking:
Civil Project Engineer x 1 (5+ years’ field experience)
Civil Site Engineer x 1 (2+ years’ post-grad experience)
For various projects across the Pacific Islands
Small-ish local civil works, marine infrastructure and coastal remediation.
Character building setting. Remote. Isolated. Logistically difficult.
The commute in and out is long and clunky, which is why the roster is set at 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off (6-day working week, Sundays off).
Flights, travel, visas, meals and accommodation provided.
A long way from anywhere. Not the kind of place you can pack up your bat and ball and head home at a moment’s notice.
You’ll need to be level-headed. Reliable. Consistent in how you show up, day in, day out. The kind of person who can be counted on.
Capacity to work as part of a team is a critical quality on this gig.
You’ll also need to be able to cope with temporary camp conditions in a hot, humid, tropical setting.
The Reward?
Yes, the money is good.
Feel good factor also high.
A real sense of accomplishment, knowing your individual effort is contributing to capacity building in developing nations.
Projects that matter, for communities that need them.
