An exceptional 12-month contract opportunity for graduates in History, Architecture, or Heritage Conservation to contribute to a significant territory-wide survey project managed by the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO). This role offers invaluable hands-on experience in site surveying, archival research, and authenticity assessment of approximately 2,000 historic buildings across Hong Kong.
Contract period: 12 months or 245 man-days
Working Location: Wan Chai (Office) and various outdoor sites
Salary: HK$1,010.00 per working day
Working hours: 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday

Job Duties:
The incumbents will be responsible for a range of duties related to built heritage conservation and documentation:
(a) To conduct comprehensive site surveys to document the existing condition of some 2,000 buildings across Hong Kong through photographic and/or video recordings.
(b) To assist in compiling detailed archival records for each building, gathered from site surveys, oral history interviews, and archival research (e.g., aerial photos, historical maps, building plans, government records).
(c) To assist in drafting preliminary studies on the authenticity of the buildings by comparing their existing condition with historical records.
(d) To assist in preparing professional presentation materials, including boundary plans and PowerPoint slides for reporting purposes.
(e) To perform any other duties as assigned by the Government Representative, ensuring smooth project progression.
