Job Title: Facilities Management Assistant
Contract period: 9 months
Working Hour: shift duties, 44 hours per week (inclusive of 1-hour meal break per day).
Place of Work: Hong Kong Island
Job Duties
(a) to assist in planning, implementing and monitoring various new and ongoing building projects, enhancement and improvement projects. and to liaise with the Architectural Services Department, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and various contractors on projects;
(b) to assist in coordinating and monitoring maintenance and upkeeping of all facilities, equipment, installations and fixtures in the Hong Kong Central Library;
(c) to assist in and monitor the implementation of house rules or control measures related to the operation of the Hong Kong Central Library;
(d) to liaise with the Fire Services Department and relevant contractors for any irregularities of fire service installations during various project implementation in the Hong Kong Central Library;
(e) to rotate with other assistant managers to act as a duty manager during the opening hours of the Hong Kong Central Library and its hiring facilities;
(f) to assist in handling public enquiries and complaints related to building and house management; as well as to supervise the work of supporting staff of the Building Management Unit; and
(g) to prepare return and collate statistics and perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Qualification Requirements
(a) have a Bachelor degree from a local university or equivalent, preferably in facilities management/ building management/ projects management;
(b) have at least one (1) year full-time working experience in building, facilities or estate management, preferably working in government buildings; and/or experience in venue operations/ projects management;
(c) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 '" or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;
(d) be fluent in both spoken and written English and Cantonese;
(e) be conversant in computer software; and
(f) apply for a Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate ("Green Card") upon request by the Government Representative and when necessary.
