Place of Work: Tsuen Wan Public Library, 38 Sai Lau Kok Road, Tsuen Wan, N.T. and/or other venues as requested by supervisors.
Salary: HK$1167.00/per working day

Job Duties
 

1. To assist in planning and preparation for the renovation project and monitoring its progress and its compliance with the library requirement.
2. To assist in hiring of various services and acquisition of furniture, equipment and miscellaneous supplies, including drafting the specifications, communicating with suppliers to ensure the quality of goods and services and their compliance with the library requirements.
3. To handle general administrative matters, such as organizing and controlling work schedules of supporting staffs arranging and conducting in-service training programs and monitoring the performance of the service contractor.
4. To maintain the smooth daily operation of the library and enforcement of the library regulation.
5. To answer readers’ enquiries and to provide readers advisory services on library facilities and materials.
6. To assist in the promotion of library services and facilities.
7. To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

 
 
Qualification Requirements
 

• have a bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university or equivalent;

(ii) passed in HKCEE with Chinese and English (Syllabus B) or equivalent or possess 'level 3' or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), or equivalent;
(iii) have good written commands in Chinese and English;
(iv) can speak fluent Cantonese, Putonghua and English;
(v) have at least 18 months post-qualification full-time working experience (Note2);
(vi) be self-motivated, mature and capable to work independently and in a team;
(vii) possess a customer-focused orientation and good communication skills;
(viii) have knowledge of computer skills and good knowledge in common application software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. Good knowledge and searching skills of the Internet and other electronic resources are also required.
 
 
Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2“ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 and henceforth.
 
Grade D in Chinese Language in IGCSE/GCSE/GCE'O5 Level are accepted as comparable to “Level 2" in Chinese Language respectively in HKCEE for appointments. Grade E in English Language in IGCSE/GCSE/GCE4O, Level are accepted as comparable to "Level 2" respectively in English Language in HKCEE.
For those candidate completed Secondary 6 in New Senior Secondary (NSS) shall obtain “Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in IIKDSE.
Z If more than one (1) relevant experience is quoted as proof of experience, the overlapping period between experiences will only be counted once when counting the length of cumulative years of experience. For example, a candidate will be counted as having one (1) cumulative years of experience if he/she had relevant experiences covering overlapping periods of 1.8,2018 一 31.7.2019 (i.e. one (1) year 1.8.2018 -31.7.2019 from the employment).
