Position: Project Assistant
Contract Period: 1 year
Working Location: Shatin
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 09:00-18:00
(or flextime as required by the Museum, including 1 hour meal break)
 
Duties

1. To undertake the logistic arrangement for collecting objects, images and video records from different museums, government departments or institutions and compile a data base of the collected materials for future exhibition use;
2. To assist in preparing, editing and proofreading of texts in Chinese and English such as catalogue, booklet, panel, caption etc., for the Hong Kong Memory Project (HRM Project) and any museum exhibitions;
3. To conduct research in preparation of museum exhibition on Hong Kong popular culture including the development and history of Hong Kong broadcasting, film, television, pop music, etc. and compile all the research materials for reference;
4. To compile and register museum artefacts .and exhibits;
5. To liaise with co-organisers for preparing supplementary related to the above-mentioned exhibitions for the HKM Project;
6. To conduct photo-recording and measurement of the collected artefacts and exhibits, and input their information such as object name, dimension, background information into the registration/inventory system of the Museum or other database format as instructed by the Museum Representative; and 
7. To perform any other duties as assigned by the representatives of the Museum.

1. Second Honour degree or above from a Hong Kong University, or equivalent with major in Anthropology, Architecture, Chinese History, Cultural Studies, Humanity, History, Literature, Museum Studies, or equivalent;
2. A good command in oral and written Chinese and English and have met the language proficiency requirements of "Level 2" results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE or equivalent results;
3. Minimum two (2) years of full-time working experience, with at least one (1) vear of full-time working experience in local or overseas museums or cultural institutions;
4. Possessing good communication skills; showing strong initiative; being courteous; being able to work within a team and work independently;
5. Good knowledge in practical computer skills, e.g. MS Office and MAC OS System;
6. Fast and accurate typing skills, both Chinese and English; and
7. One (l) vear full-time working experience in handling of museum objects is highly preferred.
