Position:                 Museum Programme Coordinator

Contract period:     12 months 
Working Location: Hong Kong Island
Working hours:      Normally required  to work 11 days every 2 weeks, on Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday, including public holidays (9:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm, including 1 hour meal break)
 
Job Duties:

1. To assist in designing and coordinating a wide array of educational programmes related to Chinese history and culture with different stakeholders such as schools, institutions, etc;
2. To assist in organising and running of outreach activities and other education/extension programmes related to Chinese history and culture;
3. To provide customer services to the general public, like answering telephone enquiries, and providing information on the Museum activities to the visitors, etc.
4. To assist in arranging group visits and schedules for guided tours;
5. To keep record and inventory of souvenirs and reference books, etc;
6. To assist in preparing educational and publicity materials;
7. To assist in updating the Museum's website information, vetting and testing the interactive programme information of iM guide platform,
8. To assist in conducting visitor surveys, including: (a) distributing questionnaires (b) collecting visitors' opinions (c) compiling data and reports
9. To assist in collecting, cataloguing, maintaining and analysing data or information related to exhibitions and museum programmes;
10. To assist in conducting outreach programmes outside the Museum*; and
11. To perform other duties as assigned by the Museum representatives.

 
Requirements:

1. The Servicer must have at least four (4) years full-time working experience in customer service, among which at least three (3) years should be under museum setting (experience in docent service is preferable);
2. The servicer should have a Bachelor degree or above (majoring in history, humanities, anthropology, cultural studies or related subjects are desirable)
3. A combination of five "Level 2' in NSS subject/ "Attained' in a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects/ " Grade E ' in Other Language subjects of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) (equivalent to / "Grade E" before 2007 or above in 5 subjects including Chinese Language and English Language ("Syllabus B" before 2007) in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)), or equivalent;
4. Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua;
5. Ability to work within a team and work independently under a tight schedule with positive working attitude; and be detail-minded and self-motivated.
6. Possessing good communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
7. Good knowledge and command in computer applications, including Chinese character input and using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
8. Good at organising and monitoring projects, being patient and attentive to logistics arrangement and statistic information.
