We’re looking for a reliable Hatchery Farm Worker to join a small, friendly team at our client’s hatchery just out of Cambridge.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the hatchery, helping with everything from egg collection and processing through to cleaning and general farm duties.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, physical work and being part of a small team.

No two days are exactly the same, but your duties will include:

• General hatchery and farm duties
• Collecting and handling eggs
• Carefully processing eggs into incubators
• Cleaning and maintaining the hatchery and work areas
• Water blasting and using high-pressure hoses
• Keeping drains, equipment and work areas clean and hygienic
• Following set procedures to ensure high standards are maintained
• Helping out with other tasks as needed

This is a physical role, and you’ll need to be comfortable working on your feet, getting stuck in and working in a busy agricultural environment.
Ideally, you’ll have some previous hatchery, farm or agricultural experience.

You’ll need to be:

• Reliable and hardworking
• Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
• Good with attention to detail
• Able to follow procedures and maintain high hygiene standards
• A good team player with clear communication skills
• Flexible and happy to pitch in where needed
• Own vehicle

This position works on a 12 days on / 2 days off roster, with every second weekend off.  Very early morning starts - finishing early afternoon.
