We are looking for a reliable and physically fit Class 4 Driver to join our hatchery transport team in Matamata.  This is a 8 week contract. 
 
This is a hands-on role transporting hatching eggs from breeder farms and delivering day-old chicks to growers throughout the region.
 
Your day will include:

• Collecting hatching eggs from breeder farms
• Loading and unloading egg trolleys using the truck's tail lift
• Transporting eggs safely to the hatchery
• Loading and delivering day-old chicks to grower farms
• Operating the truck's Thermo King refrigeration unit and generator
• Cleaning and sanitising the truck throughout the day
• Completing a thorough wash-down of the truck at the end of each shift
• Communicating with hatchery and farm staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Shift times:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
• 5:30am - 2:00pm
• Minimum 32 hours per week
• Overtime available during peak production periods

The Role

What We're Looking For

• Minimum Class 4 driver's licence
• Clean driving record
• Physically fit and capable of pushing loaded egg and chick trolleys
• Experience operating tail lifts is an advantage
• Reliable with excellent time management
• Good communication skills
• Able to work well within a team
• Committed to following strict biosecurity procedures

Biosecurity Requirements
Due to strict biosecurity regulations, applicants must not:

• Own or keep chickens, ducks or pigs at home.
• Live with anyone who works on a chicken, duck or pig farm or processing plant.
