PeopleHQ is proud to be partnering with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuara Trust to appoint an experienced Administrator to join their team in Rotorua.
Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuara are a hapū of Te Arawa whose home is centred on Horohoro maunga and Tārewa, near Rotorua. Their marae are Kearoa, Rongomaipāpā and Tārewa Pounamu.
Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuara is the hapū post-settlement governance entity. It was formed in 2007 to receive and administer the hapū Treaty settlement assets for the benefit of its members. The Rūnanga's vision is to revive and foster the mana of Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuara, guided by its long-term strategy, Paerangi 2050, which focuses on cultural heritage, the wellbeing of the people, the environment, the asset base and organisational infrastructure.
This is an exciting time to join the Rūnanga. Recent milestones include a landmark co-management partnership with Rotorua Lakes Council for the Karamū Tākina Springs, which supply much of Rotorua's drinking water, and the launch of the hapū Freshwater Management Plan. The Rūnanga's work is grounded in the values of Ngāti Kearoa Ngāti Tuaratanga, kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga.
