Delta is recruiting for an Electrician / Electrical Fitter with excellent mental and physical problem-solving skills to join our network distribution maintenance /construction team in Dunedin. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role involves performing installation, maintenance, fault finding, refurbishment, repairs, testing and commissioning of a wide range of Electricity Distribution Equipment including Transformers, HV Switchgear, Control Equipment and Instrumentation. The work is based is mainly in the Dunedin Area from our Electrical Workshop but there are occasions where travel is required to conduct work in other areas like Waipori, Macraes, Invercargill and Central Otago. There is also some occasional maintenance work that is conducted during evenings and weekends.
About you:
- Highly motivated and a proven team player.
- An analytical approach to fault finding in distribution equipment and systems.
- Good understanding of how to use diagnostic test equipment and interpret their results.
- A good track record dealing with customers.
- A good level of computer literacy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Fit and well to handle the physical demands of the role.
- Exhibits tidy and methodical work practices.
- Able to work independently.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Able to guide and train an apprentice when required.
- Excellent attendance and Health and Safety record.
- Ability to lead when required.
What you need to succeed: - Experienced and qualified Electrician with Full Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration and current Practicing License.
- Full Class 1 New Zealand driver’s license.
- HV experience an advantage.
About the role: - This is a full-time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours, allowances are paid for overnight out of town work, including meals, etc.
- The wage range for this role is $38-$42/hour (gross) - commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
- This role is primarily based in Dunedin.
