Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this role involves performing mechanical maintenance of plant, ride on mowing, weed eating, and STMS.
In the supervisor's absence, this role demands strong leadership and administrative capabilities, including managing billing processes, overseeing budget allocations, coordinating tasks and schedules, adjusting resources to meet project timelines, and maintaining professional relationships with the local council and Delta staff.

What you need to succeed: - STMS Cat A and B (onsite TTM setups)
- Grow safe standard level
- 1.5 years plus experience in a gardening or related Horticulture role OR a level 4 NZQA qualification in Horticulture.
- Experience leading a team and administration duties
- Valid Class 1 New Zealand driver's license.
- Experience with weed trimmers and other small plant.
Core Duties: Gardening
- Oversee and carry out seasonal planting of trees, shrubs and tussocks.
- Carry out weed-eating and push mowing in Jacks’ point, on private properties and for events.
- Hand-weeding.
- Remove and dispose of dead trees, shrubs and tussocks.
- Spraying for insect and pest control.
- Complete audits of Jacks Point.
- Keeping plant up to date with mechanical maintenance.
Management (in absence of supervisor)
- Set up Traffic Management and give way operations.
- Supervise and direct trade staff.
- Liase with the Project Manager at Jacks Point.
- Manage and direct all staff.
- Complete and submit timesheets for the team and complete charge outs.
- Overseeing the budget.
About the role: - This is a full-time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours at a rate of time and a half.
- The wage range for this role is $30-$31.80/hour (gross) - dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- This role is primarily based in Queenstown, Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand.
