The Role:

We seek an enthusiastic person to join our Dunedin based Response Team. The purpose of this role is to perform planned and unplanned repairs and maintenance work in parks, reserves, playgrounds, and other green spaces; as well as other work as directed such as manual labouring and gardening duties.
This is a diverse role within the Dunedin area covering parks and reserves for the DCC.

You will enjoy working outside and be willing to perform a range of tasks reliably. This is an opportunity to be part of a great team within a supportive environment.

• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent attendance and Health and Safety record

What you need to succeed:

• A current and clean full drivers’ licence – class 2 and / or WTR would be advantageous.
• A good range of practical skills in areas such as gardening, grounds, and facilities maintenance
• Competence with mowing equipment, chainsaws and other power tools
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
• The ability to work both in a team and independently
• A recognised trade certification for Horticulture / Landscaping / Welding or equivalent experience in these areas will be advantageous.

Trade certifications such as Horticulture, Landscaping, Welding and Growsafe Certificates are desirable. However, consideration will be given to applicants who have relevant experience and the required attributes above.
