This position involves working independently, as well as part of a team to direct others to work to ensure the completion of assigned jobs in a timely and safe manner. To meet or exceed agreed standards & maintain green spaces in Nelson/Tasman to a high standard, including ride on mowing, weed eating, spraying & general environmental work. 

About You:

• Experience on ride on mowers in a contract environment;
• Experience with weed trimmers and other small plant;
• Basic mechanical knowledge;
• Dedication to complete every job to a high standard as per contract requirements;
• Chemical Treatment experience
• Mindful of safety and courteous of the general public;
• A strong work ethic and can be relied upon to work well unsupervised;
• Flexibility with hours to meet operational requirements;
• Able to prioritize and work within time-frames;
• Able to work well with others and can communicate effectively.

Our Ideal Candidate is Someone Who:

• Enjoys working outside and is prepared to be flexible about hours of work;
• Is proficient in the use of a range of gardening power tools and operation of ride on mowers;
• Attention to detail
• Is self-motivated, works hard and uses their initiative;
• Can be relied upon to work unsupervised in a safe and efficient manner;
• Works well in a team and can interact with members of the public in a positive and constructive manner;
• Has a current and clean driver's license Class 1 and 2
• Confidence and ability to supervise others
• Able to follow and give effective instructions.
• Able to effectively coach, develop and train staff.

Qualifications such as W, T, R & D endorsements and Drivers Licence 3-5, Grow safe Certificate, National Certificate in Horticulture, Management of Agrichemicals certificate and traffic management are desirable, however consideration will be given to applicants who have relevant experience and the required attributes above.
