Are you a qualified and experienced Electrician / Electrical Fitter, Cable Jointer, or Line Mechanic with a passion for the Electricity Distribution Industry? We are seeking a professional with 2+ years of post-apprenticeship hands-on experience, full EWRB Registration and current Practicing License to join our Nelson/Tasman team. In addition to your trade qualification, a full Class 1 driver’s license is essential and a background in Electrical Contracting would be highly advantageous.

As a qualified Electricity Supply – Distribution Tradesperson, the role involves construction and maintenance of electricity supply distribution networks, fault response, network locating and mark-outs, stand-overs, and other related services. Reporting to the Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have experience in the Electrical Contracting Industry, strong knowledge of electrical regulations, and the ability to interpret network drawings. You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to health and safety. The successful candidate will also be well-organised, adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of analytical fault finding while keeping up to date with industry changes. The role includes work on both the underground and overhead network as well as substation work so experience in these aspects would be a benefit.

You will also operate electrical equipment up to 33kV and be prepared to carry out manual work such as excavation and reinstatement. Participation in an after-hours faults roster and a proven track record of reliability and following instructions are also essential.
