This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-known and progressive South Island contracting company with interesting projects in Queenstown and the surrounding area. Gain further experience and personal development working with a progressive company in a supportive environment.
As a Line Mechanic, you will complete distribution line work in accordance with Industry Best Practice, legislation and company procedures. The role involves constructing, maintaining, upgrading, and repairing:
- Ground and structure mounted electrical equipment.
- Non load bearing pole hardware.
- Pole structures and overhead conductors.

What you need to succeed: - Full Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration and current Practicing License or EWRB Limited Practicing License or a letter from the EWRB stating that you are eligible to apply for a EWRB Limited Practicing License.
- Full Class 1 New Zealand or international equivalent driver’s license.
- 3+ years' experience.
- Experience with overhead distribution assets.
- Experience working high voltage electric lines.
About the role: - This is a full-time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours at a rate of time and a half.
- The wage range for this role is $37-$42/hour (gross) - dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- This role is primarily based Otago in the South Island of New Zealand however travel to the Nelson/Tasman Region may be required from time to time to assist with outages and/or emergency work.
