About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mower Operator to join our team in the Dunedin area. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining public spaces, and is committed to delivering high-quality work.
As a Mower Operator, you will play an important role in the maintenance and presentation of parks, reserves, sports fields, roadside vegetation, and other community green spaces. Your primary responsibilities will include operating a range of ride-on mowing equipment, carrying out weed eating and vegetation control, and ensuring public areas are maintained to a high standard.
The role also includes basic gardening tasks such as planting, mulching, pruning, and general maintenance, along with weed spraying in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. You will be responsible for undertaking routine inspections, cleaning, and basic mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure machinery remains safe, reliable, and operational.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Ideally would have experience on ride on mowers or machinery in a contract environment;
- Wheels endorsement would be advantageous, but training can be provided for successful applicant:
- Experience with weed trimmers and other small plant.
- Basic mechanical knowledge;
- Dedication to complete every job to a high standard as per contract requirements;
- Mindful of safety and courteous of the general public;
- A strong work ethic and can be relied upon to work well unsupervised;
- Flexibility with hours to meet operational requirements;
- Able to prioritize and work within timeframes;
- Able to work well with others and can communicate effectively.
