About the role:
You’ll be the key point of contact for our Christchurch Customer Service team, field staff, contractors, clients and internal stakeholders. You’ll take ownership of workflow across our metering field operations, ensuring work is allocated effectively, service commitments are met, and everyone involved goes home safe. This is an opportunity to combine team leadership, operational coordination and excellent customer service in one high impact role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop the Christchurch Customer Service team, creating a culture of safety, service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Plan, prioritise and allocate work across Delta technicians and contractors to meet completion dates, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manage service requests, workflow data and job exceptions, and ensure paperwork is returned within agreed timeframes.
- Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, field teams and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor performance, report against plan and address issues through constructive coaching and timely escalation.
- Ensure employees and contractors follow Delta processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Resolve customer incidents and queries professionally and support process improvements and cost efficiencies.
What you’ll bring: - Two to three years’ experience in a leadership role with responsibility for at least two direct reports.
- At least three years’ experience in a commercial service desk or technical support environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service, organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, databases and operational systems.
- The ability to analyse and present operational data clearly to support reporting and decision-making.
Experience in the New Zealand electricity sector, along with familiarity with safety regulations, NZECPs or audit processes, would be an advantage.
