Scope of the Role:
The purpose of this role is to undertake construction and maintenance on distribution networks, provide distribution network fault response, power and fibre network locating and stand-overs, as well as any associated services provided by the Tasman Distribution Services Team. It covers the installation, inspection, repair, maintenance of overhauling of distribution equipment. In addition to the technical aspects of this role, the successful incumbent will be adept at building professional relationships with electrical contractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- This is a full-time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours at a rate of time and a half.
- The wage range for this role is $40-$44/hour (gross) - dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- This role is primarily based in Hope (Nelson/Tasman) in the South Island of New Zealand however travel in the Otago Region may be required from time to time to assist with outages and/or emergency work.
What you need to succeed: - Full Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration as an Electrician with a current Practicing License or Limited Practicing License or a letter from the EWRB confirming that you are eligible to apply for an EWRB Limited Practicing License.
- Full Class 1 New Zealand or international equivalent driver’s license.
- 3+ years' experience in distribution networks or industrial electrical installation work.
- Strong understanding of electrical regulations, safety standards, and quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, maintain records, and communicate effectively in the field.
