As a Trainee Line Mechanic, you’ll work towards gaining your NZQA Level 4 qualification in Distribution Line Mechanics while learning on the job alongside experienced professionals. You’ll assist with the construction and maintenance of overhead power distribution systems, develop hands-on skills working at heights, and operate specialised equipment. This role offers real career progression, including the opportunity to gain your EWRB Registration and Practicing Licence.
This role is ideal for someone motivated to build a long-term career in the electricity distribution industry and who enjoys practical, outdoor work. You’ll thrive if you’re safety-focused, eager to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team in challenging environments.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- NCEA Level 2 or a pre-trade qualification
- Full Class 1 driver’s license
- Strong technical aptitude
- A proactive, reliable, and team-focused attitude
- Physical fitness to handle demanding outdoor work
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices
