We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Wanaka Arboriculture team as a Trainee Utility Arborist. This entry-level role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, wants to grow their skills, and is committed to completing an Arboriculture apprenticeship.
 
About the role

As a Trainee Arborist, you will learn all aspects of arboriculture while supporting experienced arborists with day‑to‑day operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with tree maintenance and vegetation control
• Learning safe use of machinery, tools, and equipment
• Supporting qualified arborists with daily work tasks
• Studying toward Arboriculture Level 3 & 4 qualifications
• Training to become a Utility Arborist
• Working outdoors in a physically active role across Otago

What you need to succeed 

• Enjoys hands-on outdoor work
• Physically fit and safety-conscious
• Reliable, positive attitude, and keen to learn
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Good communication skills
• A Class 1 driver licence
