Lead the Future of Technical Excellence at Delta!
Delta is a smart thinking infrastructure specialist. We construct, manage, and maintain electricity supply and environmental infrastructure. Every day we make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders. We make communities better for people to live, work and play in - keeping the lights on, the trees trimmed and the parks green.

Are you passionate about developing people, driving safety excellence, and shaping the future of our technical workforce? We're looking for a Technical Training Manager to lead the delivery of world-class training and development across our Power and Communication Services Division. Based in Dunedin, with travel across the South Island, you'll play a key role in ensuring our teams remain safe, skilled, and future-ready.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your industry experience and people focus will shine. You'll design and deliver training programmes, apprenticeships, and cadetships, ensuring compliance and competence in all safety-critical roles. You'll collaborate closely with regional leaders, technical experts, and training providers to maintain Delta's reputation as a leader in workforce capability, while fostering continuous learning and professional growth.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring 10+ years of experience in the electricity distribution industry, a strong commitment to safety, and proven skill in training delivery, facilitation, and competency assessment. You'll be commercially astute, confident managing budgets and external providers, and have a sound understanding of the NZQA framework. Your ability to build trusted relationships, mentor apprentices and trainees, and influence across all levels will make you a standout. Relevant trade qualification/s and adult education or assessor credentials will further set you apart.

If you're a technically experienced industry professional who thrives on engagement, coaching, and innovation, this is your chance to make a lasting impact. Bring your energy, leadership, and training expertise to a business that invests in its people and powers New Zealand's future.
