About the role:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating a range of mowing equipment, including ride-on mowers, tractors, and other small machinery. A key aspect of the position involves maintaining equipment to a high standard and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and with attention to detail.
You’ll also support the Open Space team with a variety of duties across the Nelson/Tasman region. Flexibility is essential, as responsibilities may occasionally include weekend work.
Please note that overtime up to 70 hours will be required during the spring and summer seasons, so a willingness to adapt to changing schedules is important.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- At least 2 years’ experience on ride on and/or reach arm mowers in a contract environment.
- Experience with weed trimmers and other small plant.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Dedication to complete every job to a high standard as per contract requirements.
- Mindful of safety and courteous of the general public.
- A strong work ethic and can be relied upon to work well unsupervised.
- Flexibility with hours to meet operational requirements.
- Able to prioritize and work within timeframes.
- Able to work well with others and can communicate effectively.
