The role
Based in Dunedin and reporting to the Field Manager Technical Services this critical position is responsible for motivating and leading a team of 4 Technicians across the greater Dunedin metropolitan area. Here's your opportunity to step into a challenging yet highly rewarding role within Delta.
Delta covers a wide range of testing on a variety of apparatus across Aurora Energy’s network which includes, but is not limited to, power transformers, current and voltage instrument transformers, voltage regulators, circuit breakers (66kV/33kV/11kV), protection relays, high voltage cables (33kV/11kV/6.6kV), generation and SCADA communications. A day in the life of the Technician Team Leader at Delta could range from leading preventative maintenance testing and commissioning new projects through to managing your team, conducting regular meetings with Aurora Energy and Delta personnel to ensure objectives are achieved.
The person
Critical to the success of this role, you will be highly motivated and able to demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to remain resilient in challenging situations while guiding the team with flexibility and open-mindedness. You exhibit empathy towards team members, ensuring their needs are understood and supported, and maintain a high level of integrity with methodical work practices and excellent attention to detail.
You can demonstrate how you have previously assumed leadership roles, either formally or informally, and brought a team together to work collaboratively and effectively. Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are strong and you are adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are not averse to paperwork, are computer/software savvy and have superb organisational skills.
Qualifications, skills, and experiences
Essential formal qualifications include an appropriate Electrical qualification, current Electrical Registration and Practicing Licence, as well as a full Class 1 driver’s licence.
