Delta is proud to manage a range of sports fields throughout the Central Otago District on behalf of CODC. We’re currently looking for a passionate and qualified Groundsperson to join our experienced team in Alexandra.
In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of sports fields, as well as preparing the grounds for a variety of events – from local matches to domestic and first-class sports games, and other CODC events.
About you:
- Highly motivated and a proven team player
- Has a strong interest in turf or grounds maintenance
- Proactive problem solver
- Is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors
- Brings relevant experience in preparing and maintaining sports turf
- Has the ability to work independently
- Excellent attendance and Health and Safety record
What you need to succeed: - Demonstrated experience operating sports turf management and mowing equipment
- National Certificate in Sports Turf Management desirable but not essential
- Holds a current Growsafe Certificate
- Strong understanding of, and commitment to, Health & Safety best practices
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Sound mechanical aptitude
- Holds a current and clean Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 preferred but not essential)
