Delta is proud to manage a range of sports fields throughout the Central Otago District on behalf of CODC. We’re currently looking for a passionate and qualified Groundsperson to join our experienced team in Alexandra.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of sports fields, as well as preparing the grounds for a variety of events – from local matches to domestic and first-class sports games, and other CODC events.

About you:

• Highly motivated and a proven team player
• Has a strong interest in turf or grounds maintenance
• Proactive problem solver
• Is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors
• Brings relevant experience in preparing and maintaining sports turf
• Has the ability to work independently
• Excellent attendance and Health and Safety record

  
What you need to succeed:

• Demonstrated experience operating sports turf management and mowing equipment
• National Certificate in Sports Turf Management desirable but not essential
• Holds a current Growsafe Certificate
• Strong understanding of, and commitment to, Health & Safety best practices
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Sound mechanical aptitude
• Holds a current and clean Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 preferred but not essential)
