PPS Consulting are very pleased to partner with our valued client, a leader in the mining and metals industry to source an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for their operation based on site in coastal Victoria.  


 
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the EHS function for this major metals processing facility overseeing the strategic and tactical aspects of the EHS functions for the facility.  Key responsibilities include: 
   

• Provide an advisory service to senior management on all aspects of EHS issues.  
• Provide location management with advanced knowledge of major EHS issues as they arise.  
• Assist the operation to identify its environmental requirements and strategic risks, and achieve its goals and objectives and ultimately an environmental incident free workplace.  
• Provide leadership and guidance to the EHS function across the facility, ensuring that they have the tools and skills necessary to support the operation in meeting EHS performance standards and sustain short and long-term business goals.  

  
The principal challenge of the role is to coordinate and consult with the plant operating management team combined with the development of management strategies to maximise the EHS outcomes for the site. The EHS Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is accountable for budgets and resources within these activities. The position acts as the main customer interface for these services and will need to develop a strong team-based working relationship.

• Tertiary Qualifications in Health & Safety and/or Environmental 
• Significant experience in an industrial operations environment (mining, resources, manufacturing) 
• Demonstrated EHS leadership experience 
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the capability to mentor and coach internal teams  
• Ability to guide, influence and build strong relationships  

 
This opportunity is located in a picturesque coastal town in regional Victoria with great education and health services available in the local area. A full relocation package will be offered to the successful candidate.
