Underground Mine Operations Manager

Location: Western NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time Residential (preferred) or FIFO from East Coast
Are you an experienced Underground Mine Manager with a background in hard rock underground mining seeking to join a company with excellent growth potential and career progression prospects? We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Undergound Mine Operations Manager  with strong leadership capabilities to lead the Underground Operations team in Western NSW that  is currently going through a period of significant change and growth.  The successful candidate will be joining a strong new leadership team to help drive growth in the broader business.

About the Role
This is a critical leadership position that will oversee all aspects of their underground mining operations. You will report directly to the General Manager, and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the mine while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all underground mining activities to achieve production targets and operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and operational plans to deliver financial and operational success.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mine Manager in hard rock underground mining operations.
• Mining Engineering Degree or equivalent
• 15+ years underground mining experience with a minimum of 3 years as an alternate Mining Manager, Project Manager or Underground Manager,
• NSW MEM Practising Certificate (essential or ability to quickly acquire).
• Exceptional leadership skills with a strong focus on safety and team development.
• In-depth knowledge of mining regulations and best practices.
• Preference is to reside locally in Western NSW and actively contribute to the community however a DIDO or FIFO (from the East Coast) options are available
