Overview
A leading commercial insurance broking group is seeking a driven Account Executive to join their Midlands team. This role has a primary focus on new business generation, pipeline development, and converting prospects into long‑term commercial clients. You'll operate with independence while being supported by a strong broking, placement, and claims function.
 
Key Responsibilities

• New Business Generation: Identify, target, and acquire new commercial clients across the Midlands, particularly Nottingham and surrounding areas.
• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a robust pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
• Client Acquisition: Manage the full acquisition cycle — prospecting, needs analysis, proposal creation, presentations, and closing.
• Market Engagement: Work with insurers to develop competitive terms and bespoke solutions for new business opportunities.
• Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with prospects, centres of influence, and local business networks.
• Cross‑Selling: Introduce complementary covers.
• Commercial Insight: Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks to support effective prospecting.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with broking, placement, and claims teams to ensure seamless onboarding and high‑quality service delivery.

Experience & Skills Required

• Strong grounding in SME and mid‑market commercial insurance lines.
• Proven track record of winning and retaining commercial clients.
• Confident in sales, negotiation, and presenting solutions to senior decision‑makers.
• Clear, persuasive communication style with strong commercial presence.
• Comfortable managing your own pipeline and driving activity.

Salary & Working Pattern

• Location: Nottingham (Midlands region)
• Working Pattern: Hybrid, typically 2-3 days office‑based
• Package: Competitive Account Executive‑level salary + new business incentives
