Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Fraud Claims Handler to join their specialist counter‑fraud function. This senior role will be responsible for investigating and managing a varied portfolio of suspected fraudulent motor claims, delivering strong technical decisions and robust fraud outcomes. The successful candidate will manage cases end‑to‑end and play a key role in enhancing fraud strategy, improving referral quality, and supporting the ongoing development of the wider fraud capability.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suspected fraudulent motor claims from referral through to resolution.
• Review and triage fraud referrals, selecting appropriate investigation strategies.
• Analyse intelligence and evidence to drive proportionate, outcome‑focused investigations.
• Make clear, defensible technical decisions on indemnity, liability, and fraud outcomes.
• Maximise savings, repudiations, and fraud prevention while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of all fraud savings and investigation activity.
• Liaise with policyholders, third parties, solicitors, investigators, and suppliers.
• Contribute to fraud strategy improvements, trend identification, and referral quality.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience handling motor insurance fraud investigations.
• Strong technical knowledge across indemnity, liability, credit hire, property damage, first‑party and personal injury.
• Excellent investigation, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong understanding of fraud indicators and intelligence‑led investigations.
• Effective claims management, including reserving, prioritisation, and SLA control.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience using fraud intelligence tools and IFB systems/alerts.
• Knowledge of counter‑fraud best practice and emerging fraud trends.
