Senior Microbiologist

This is an opportunity to join a growing chemical and medical device manufacturing business as a Senior Microbiologist. After an incredible 12 months working towards US product approval and with an incoming 2025 site expansion, there are plenty of exciting projects planned across the business.
  
As a Senior Scientist, you will lead on complex microbial projects towards the development of a hyaluronic acid based product.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee advanced microbiological tests and experiments on samples
• Analyse microbial samples for contamination, pathogens, and other
• Ensure compliance to GLP / GMP
• Provide training and mentoring to junior microbiologists on laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and quality assurance
• Ensure the laboratory adheres to quality control protocols for microbiological testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with equipment
• Analyse and interpret data from microbiological tests

• A Master’s degree or PhD in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods (e.g., PCR, ELISA, culture techniques)
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, etc.).
