About the Role
This opportunity is based within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, supporting people with complex disabilities, significant mental health needs.
Our support workers are committed to delivering person-centred, trauma-informed supports that uphold each person's rights, dignity, choice and control. You will work alongside the people we support to empower them to make their own decisions, build independence, achieve their goals, and live the life they choose, while providing safe, consistent, and high-quality support.
You will be supporting people who may require:
- High-intensity and complex supports - Extensive experience supporting people with complex disabilities and behaviours of concern
- Positive Behaviour Support implementation
- Emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques
- Mental health support and recovery-focused approaches - Strong knowledge and practical experience supporting people living with mental health conditions (this is an essential requirement for the role)
- Personal care and manual handling
- Community participation and capacity building
- Medication assistance and responding appropriately during emergencies
Mandatory Requirements - Significant experience within the Disability Support Sector
- Current Driver Licence and reliable, registered vehicle
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using smartphones and computer systems
