IT & Systems Manager
Gold Coast (Robina, QLD) – Onsite | SCHADS Award
Lead with courage. Build systems that matter. Do IT differently.
At United Disability Care (UDC), we exist to empower people living with disability to love their lives and live their dreams. Behind every great support experience is a strong, secure, and forward-thinking systems environment — and that’s where you come in.
We are seeking an IT & Systems Manager who is a leader first, a strategic thinker, and someone with the courage to roll up their sleeves, challenge traditional approaches, and build smarter ways of working.
This role is Gold Coast–based (Robina) and onsite. This is non-negotiable.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board, you will set and lead UDC’s IT and systems strategy, ensuring our technology is secure, scalable, compliant, and future-ready.
You’ll oversee IT infrastructure, data governance, cybersecurity, automation, and safe AI adoption, while leading and developing a high-performing IT team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both strategic direction and practical delivery.
You will play a critical role in embedding systems that support compliance, reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enable our people to focus on what matters most, supporting great lives.
What You’ll Be Known For:
- Being a visible, decisive leader who sets direction and backs their team
- Aligning IT strategy with real business outcomes
- Building secure, scalable systems that support growth
- Championing safe and practical AI and automation
- Designing compliance into systems — not relying on memory or manual work
- Translating complex technical concepts into clear advice for executives and the Board
- Doing things better — not just the way they’ve always been done
Key Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team with clear accountability and high performance
- Develop and execute an IT strategy aligned with organisational goals
- Oversee infrastructure, systems performance, and data architecture
- Maintain robust cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance frameworks
- Drive system-based SOPs, automation, and workflow efficiencies
- Champion safe AI adoption, approved toolsets, and staff capability building
- Ensure IT knowledge is captured, documented, and accessible
- Manage IT budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships
- Provide regular reporting and strategic advice to the Executive and Board
About You You are a confident and courageous leader who: - Has 5+ years’ experience in senior IT or systems leadership
- Understands cybersecurity, data governance, and scalable system design
- Has experience working in regulated environments (NDIS experience highly regarded)
- Is comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery
- Leads with integrity, curiosity, and a growth mindset
- Is not afraid to challenge inefficiencies and lead change
- Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications: - Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
Why Join UDC? - Be part of a values-driven organisation making a real difference
- Work directly with an engaged CEO and Executive team
- Lead meaningful systems transformation, not just “keep the lights on” IT
- A culture that values innovation, accountability, and people
- Opportunity to genuinely shape how technology supports great lives
Important to Know - This role is based in Robina, Gold Coast - local presence is essential
- Some local and interstate travel may be required
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and right to work in Australia required
