About the Company
 
We are supporting a well-established organisation in Central London with the appointment of a Cash Allocation Specialist. This role sits within a collaborative shared services function and plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely allocation of incoming receipts across multiple bank accounts.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting in their career with 6-12 months finance experience with strong attention to detail, confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders and an interest in developing within credit control.
 
Key Responsibilities - Cash Allocation Specialist

• Take full ownership of all incoming payments across multiple bank accounts
• Accurately allocate receipts in line with internal controls and expectations
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across the Group
• Contact clients to obtain remittance advice where required
• Handle intercompany allocation requests and queries
• Liaise with other departments to resolve allocation issues
• Deliver cheque payments to the bank in line with agreed schedules
• Escalate unresolved cash issues promptly to avoid month end backlogs
• Maintain responsibility for a small credit control ledger
• Support ad hoc projects including bank account closures and process improvements
• Assist the Head of Credit Control and Group Financial Controller as require
• Alongside cash allocation, there is scope to gain exposure to credit control activity with training and support provided.

Skills and Experience

• Experience within credit control desirable but not essential
• Basic understanding of invoices and accounting procedures
• Confident communicating with clients and internal stakeholders
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Professional and confident telephone manner
• Organised and methodical
• Highly motivated, proactive, flexible and adaptable
• Able to work to deadlines and manage priorities
• Professional and discreet with confidential information
