Head of Financial Planning & Analysis - Hospitality Sector
Location: SW London
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000
Hybrid: Hybrid - 4 office days per week
 
About the Company
Our client is a leading operator in the premium casual dining sector, combining a collection of modern brasseries with a growing portfolio of high-quality pubs and boutique rooms across the UK. Backed by a major private equity investor, the business is on a strong growth trajectory, with plans to significantly expand its estate and quadruple profits over the next few years.
 
With close to 50 successful sites, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the wider leadership team, the Head of FP&A will drive strategic decision-making and deliver commercial insight to support ambitious expansion plans. You will lead a team of three, partner with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in commercial analysis, investment appraisal and long-term financial planning - offering strong exposure to private equity investors and involvement in a future exit.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
As Head of FP&A, you will:

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of three finance professionals.
• Create a high-performance culture through clear objectives, effective delegation and ongoing development.
• Ensure the team is structured for success with SMART goals and regular performance reviews.
• Partner with department heads to ensure decisions are backed by robust financial insight.
• Collaborate with the CEO and CFO on pricing, menu engineering, and competitor benchmarking.
• Lead supplier discussions to identify opportunities for margin improvement and cost control.
• Deliver actionable insights through ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modelling.
• Own the modelling and appraisal of new site investments, working with the Board, private equity partners and lenders.
• Conduct detailed demographic and financial analysis to assess performance and ensure accretive returns.
• Maintain and enhance the group's long-term financial model for use in strategic planning, banking, and exit readiness.
• Take full ownership of weekly and monthly performance reporting across sales, margins and labour.
• Manage and develop the Tableau reporting suite and ensure data integrity.
• Present insights in weekly trading meetings and lead labour cost review sessions with operations.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and mid-year reforecasting cycles.
• Prepare budget presentations and packs for senior management, the Board and external stakeholders.
• Integrate new site openings and investments into financial forecasts.
• Coordinate monthly board reporting across departments, consolidating financial and operational insights.
• Provide strategic analysis and recommendations to the senior leadership team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Head of FP&A

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with 5-10 years post-qualified experience.
• Proven background in financial planning, analysis and commercial business partnering.
• Experience within private equity-backed, multi-site or hospitality businesses is highly desirable.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communicator, able to present complex data clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Commercially astute with a strategic mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools is an advantage
