We’re seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our client’s team in Norwest, NSW and play a key role in their procurement operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the seamless procurement of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a qualified supply chain.
• Procure all raw materials, components, supplies and services to support our rubber factory, BCP manufacturing & assembly, and warehouse operations.
• Efficiently manage the import and export of goods.
• Within our Corrective and Preventive Action Request (CPAR) system, ensure all quality issues from the supply chain are rectified.
• Help manage inventory to effectively maintain customer service levels while maximising turns.
• Maintain an accurate purchasing database containing supplier and purchasing history.
• Perform ongoing evaluation of prices to maintain and update standard cost. Keep the cost database up to date.
• Participate on the Cost Improvement Team and Delivery Improvement Team.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement programs and suggestion systems as required.
• Work on special projects as assigned by the Finance and Operations Manager.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role and strong understanding of supplier management and contract negotiations
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate well with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have full working rights in Australia
