Senior Accountant / Client Manager - Business Services | $110,000 - $150,000

The Firm
A well-established Melbourne accounting firm is looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant / Client Manager to its Business Services team.

This is a genuinely client-facing role suited to an experienced accountant who is ready to take greater ownership of a portfolio while remaining involved in the technical side of the work.

You'll manage your own portfolio of established clients, work closely with senior leadership and have the opportunity to develop further across tax planning, advisory and higher-level client work.

The role offers a strong balance between technical accounting and relationship management, with approximately 50% of your time focused on compliance and 50% on managing and advising clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients valued between approximately $200k - $400k in fees.
• Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns across a range of entity types.
• Work with privately owned businesses with annual turnover of $3m+.
• Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact.
• Conduct regular client meetings and provide ongoing taxation and business advice.
• Manage and facilitate Tax Planning meetings.
• Review work completed by junior team members and provide ongoing guidance.
• Assist with business advisory, forecasting, budgeting and management reporting depending on experience.
• Work closely with senior leadership on more complex client matters.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience within Australian Public Practice accounting.
• Fully qualified CA or CPA.
• Strong experience across financial statements, tax returns and Australian taxation matters.
• Previous experience managing client relationships and conducting client meetings.
• Experience working within an established multi-Partner or multi-Director accounting firm.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage your own workflow, deadlines and client portfolio.
• Previous experience reviewing and supporting junior accountants.
